Jonathan began life as a journalist at the age of 16, dabbling in local magazines and the odd music review for the local newspapers. During his student years, when he read for a degree in Journalism, he worked for a number of Cardiff-based newspapers.
This included the student paper Gair Rhydd (Free Word), which subsequently became famous for recalling an issue that offended British Muslims with a series of cartoons.
However, Jonathan cut his journalistic teeth in Gibraltar with a four-year stint at the Gibraltar Chronicle, one of the oldest daily newspapers in the world.
He joined GBC as a broadcast journalist in 2004. Besides his daily role on the Radio and TV news, he hosts a range of news-related television programmes, including "Viewpoint" and the weekly "Newsreview".
Jonathan is also a musician and plays in a band in venues around Gibraltar. In 2006, his band supported Marillion at the start of their European tour.
When he gets some spare time, he likes to lock himself away in a cave and not be bothered.
