GBC is an independent, statutory, publicly-funded corporation providing television and radio services on The Rock of Gibraltar, focusing primarily on community affairs and entertainment.
A board appointed by the Gibraltar Government exercise their function as “governors” ensuring all broadcasts adhere to the directions enshrined in the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation Act of 1963. Among other issues, this specifies that programmes are not offensive and remain politically impartial at all times. The Board also oversees the Corporation’s finances. The current Chairman is Mr Anthony Provasoli.
The Corporation is currently undergoing a major revision of operations & infrastructure. This is being led by it's CEO, Allan King & follows an in-depth study that established the way forward for the Corporation. It is envisaged that the plans will be implemented over a period of three years. GBC’s Management team comprises the Head of Radio, Gerard Teuma; the Head of Television, Stephen Cumming; the News editor, Stephen Neish; and the Senior Engineer, John Tewkesbury.
