The Attorney General, Michael Llamas QC, has said the latest deadlock on Brexit talks are a measure of the enormous complexities the UK is having to face.
Speaking to the Symposium on Self Determination at the Garrison Library which started today, Mr Llamas said Gibraltar will continue to face uncertainty in the midst of this confusion, but the Rock’s strategy is focused on border fluidity, access to the UK market, and new trade deals the UK will be negotiating.
Mr Llamas described the Gibraltar Spain border as the greatest tragedy of Brexit, as it is a textbook example of what the EU was meant to be about. To illustrate this, he said every EU state was represented in the cross-border workforce, except Luxembourg.
