A Christmas tree, donated by the Charity Committee of Argus Insurance, has been set up opposite Regal House, with money raised from donations by companies in exchange for their logo on the banner around the tree.
A choir from Governors Meadow First School sang carols and there was dancing from the Mediterranean Dance Group, with one of the children switching on the lights. All the money raised is to go to three local charities: Wobbles, Research Into Childhood Cancer and the GBC Open Day. Nick Barrett, Chairperson of the Argus Charity Committee, said it was important to raise money for local charities, particularly at this time of the year, and thanked all their sponsors.
