No contaminated eggs are being sold on the Rock. The Environmental Agency has confirmed to GBC that it has been in contact with all egg importers.
This follows a scare in the UK that around 700 thousand contaminated eggs from Dutch farms have been distributed to Britain. Major supermarkets have also withdrawn egg salads, sandwiches and sandwich fillers.
In a statement, Morrisons says all its eggs are from Britain. It’s working closely with the FSA on its investigation and has taken precautionary and prompt action to withdraw thethree products that may be affected. It adds the safety of its customer remains its priority. Eroski has also confirmed its eggs are not affected, saying they’re all regionally sourced. It does not stock the affected ‘spreads.’
