Gibraltar based online gaming company 888 Holdings has announced it’s under review by the UK Gambling Commission. The company says concerns were raised over the manner in which one of its subsidiaries has carried on its licensed activities.
In particular, the review will assess certain measures the company employs to ensure social responsibility to its customers, including the use of effective self-exclusion tools. 888 Holdings says the review follows a period of increased regulatory activity in the UK online gaming market. However, it adds that it’s dedicated to providing players with a responsible, as well as enjoyable, gaming experience and the Licensee will be proactively engaged in a cooperative and collaborative manner throughout the review.
The review is expected to last several months with 888 Holdings at risk of a fine if any breaches are identified.
