Gibraltar MEP, Julie Girling, believes there is a case within Brexit negotitions for Gibraltar’s border to have a special status. Her latest comments, follows the news that the UK Prime Minister was unable to to strike a deal with the EU, after the DUP objected to a draft agreement on the future of the Northern Irish border. Ms Girling says Gibraltar’s case would need to be carefully negotiated.
On the overall position, Ms Girling says Theresa May needs some time to sort it out, but she highlighted that the EU is keen to move on, and does not want to be stuck in this current impasse.
