Gibraltar could lose its UNESCO status if the Government does not reconsider its plans to build the new clay target shooting facilities within the Gorham’s Cave World Heritage Site.
“Serious concerns” were raised by the Development and Planning Commission at a meeting today about the negative impact the sporting facility would have on the area. Given that this is a Government project and therefore does not require DPC approval, the Commission limited itself to advising against the project as it stands.
The Laguna schools complex was also discussed and outline planning for “The Suites”, fifty-two serviced apartments at the site of the old Risso Bakery in Engineer Lane, was approved.
