The Captain of the La Linea fishing boat, Divina Providencia, says he will turn up to appear in court on Thursday.
Francisco Gomez was summoned late last month when the Spanish vessel was raking on the western side. He faces four charges contravening the Nature Protection Act.
Senor Gomez says he will turn up, although the Spanish Government has told him he will not be helped officially. He also doesn’t know whether members of the association of Spanish fishermen will accompany him.
The crew of the Divina Providencia says its confused by the conflicting reports of whether or not it can fish. But, it says, it has continued to do so and will carry on.
