Royal gun salute for Prince Charles' 69th birthday

A Royal gun salute was fired by The Royal Gibraltar Regiment Thompsons Battery this morning to celebrate Prince Charles’ 69th birthday.

The event has again prompted some elements of the UK press to ask whether he’ll step aside to allow Prince William to take

over. As it stands, the Prince of Wales would be the oldest monarch to be coronated.

The Queen however has sent a very different message, allowing him to lay the Royal wreath at Remembrance Sunday commemorated in London over the weekend.
