A tree has been planted at the Theatre Royal Park in honour of the former vice-chairperson of Breast Cancer Support Gibraltar.
Marie Cavilla passed away last May, with the charity saying it’s grateful for her hard work and unconditional dedication over many years. In tribute to her and to all who’ve been affected by breast cancer, it’s planted an almond tree, which blossoms in pale pink – the colour of the charity. Breast Cancer Support says it’s intended as a symbol of personal growth and hope, as well as a place for reflection and remembrance. October is Breast Cancer awareness month.
The tree was donated and will be maintained by Greenarc, and was inaugurated by the Minister for the Environment, John Cortes. A plaque was also donated by Charles Anes.
