The GHA has formally engaged two UK companies to provide transport services to sponsored patients and their escorts, when travelling to London for medical treatment or appointments.
Following a tender process involving seven providers - Raj cars and Greyhound Cars were the two successful bidders.
Contracts were signed on 11th November at Gibraltar House in London and will run for a minimum of twelve months.
Patients and their escorts will be met at either Gatwick or Heathrow Airport by their designated driver, and taken to their accommodation. The service will also be provided for the return journey.
Minister for Health Neil Costa said the move is designed to help reduce stress and make patients’ experience as comfortable as possible when travelling abroad to receive medical treatment.
