When she was just 13, Sarah left foro the UK to study Dance, Acting and Singing for 4 years at the Arts Educational School in Hertfordshire. It was successful, winning the "Stage Cup" resulting in her name appearing next to Jane Seymour’ on the School Board. This was followed by a three year stint at Laine Theatre Arts college in Surrey (Victoria Beckham studied there too!) training in all types of dance as well as drama and singing.
Going to college in the UK prepared Sarah well before going out into such a competitive profession, starting with a summer season in Great Yarmouth with the comedy duo Cannon & Ball. Sarah was then signed-up by the modelling agency, Monique, providing greater access to being cast for jobs, such as filming for a couple of commercials at Pinewood Studios. These were shown on Spanish TV, Germany and the US.
Another job obtained through the agency was dancing in a variety show at the Strand Theatre in the presence of HRH Prince Edward, and was later a ‘level 1’ model for the L’Oreal Hairdresser of the Year Show. Further work followed in several other countries.
Locally, Sarah is well known for being Miss Gibraltar 1990, as well as for performing on the GBC Open Day singing original material.
Sarah is also passionate about animals and has carried out voluntary work at the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park, and appeals to anyone with some free time, to go for it too – she says it’s an extremely rewarding job and every little bit helps.
Catch Sarah Yeats on Sunday Breakfast on Radio Gibraltar.
