Ben has been broadcasting for about 7 years, and in that time has worked all over the world!
From hanging out with penguins in the Falklands and dodging rockets in Iraq, to enjoying the beaches and sunshine in places like Belize and Cyprus. Preferring the sunnier side of life, Ben came back home to work at Radio Gibraltar in June 2009, and can be heard on weekday mornings from 10am.
Ben loves to take on new challenges and says working in Iraq was one of his biggest, but at the same time, very rewarding…
“I presented the Iraq Breakfast Show, which was also broadcast to the UK online, on Sky and DAB. I aimed to keep the troops in Iraq in touch with home and boost morale every morning. I’m proud to say I was there and was alongside the guys out there fighting for us”
As well as broadcasting from the studio, Ben also presents live on location and has presented road shows at water parks, on catamarans, at live concerts and even a carwash! Interacting with the audience really makes these events fun (plus it means he has less work to do) so always encourages you to get involved.
When Ben isn’t at work you’re likely to catch him on the beach in the summer, snowboarding in the mountains in the winter or having a run out on the rugby pitch (Most Improved Player Award 2007/2008- Akrotiri Rugby Club. Still quite proud of that one)
