A man who became aggressive at the frontier after being denied entry into Gibraltar, was fined £150 at the Magistrate’s Court.
James Riley, resident in La Linea, told the Justices of the Peace that having lost his passport some weeks ago, he was denied entry into Gibraltar by Borders and Coastguard officers. He claimed that although he had reported the matter to Police and had a photocopy of his passport, BCA officers did not conduct checks with the RGP to verify his report to them. He also claimed that BCA officers told him to go back to his country.
Riley pleaded guilty to causing a breach of the peace. He was fined and Justices of the Peace advised him to sort out his passport soonest possible to avoid any further problems.
