An 18-year-old has been sentenced to 6 months in prison at the Magistrates Court on Wednesday. The young man was 17 at the time of the incident and has therefore been tried as a juvenile.
He was found guilty of two counts of robbery and one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place. The original charge of affray was reduced to assault.
The sentence of 6 months will see the teenager serve 3 in prison and three suspended for a year but as the youngster has spent two months on remand, he will serve one more month in prison before being released.
