24 receive Level 2 & 3 NVQS in construction & engineering - Sir Joe discusses importance of training

Apprenticeships and training courses will continue to be offered by the Government in order to develop skills and fill gaps. 24 young people who successfully completed training and work placements in construction and engineering received their Level 2 and Level 3 National Vocational Qualification Diplomas (NVQS).

The Minister with responsibility for training Sir Joe Bossano presented the NVQs at the University this morning.

The awards were for courses on building maintenance and repairs, mechanical and electrical engineering and maintenance, plumbing and heating, as well as fabrication and welding. Sir Joe said these qualifications are helping to plug skills gaps that have been identified locally.

A further three government employees also received Assessor Certificates.
