Today marks 75 years since an explosion aboard RFA Bedenham resulted in 13 deaths.

The merchant navy vessel, which was loaded with tonnes of ammunition, was docked at Gun wharf when a fire broke out onboard, ultimately leading to the fatal explosion.

Speaking at a commemorative event this morning, The Minister for Civil Contingencies says the explosion left a lasting mark on Gibraltar, and remains a sombre part of our history.
