The Health Authority's Covid-19 vaccination team thinks they will have administered all of the vaccines currently available to the community by early next week.
This should mean the majority in the "70 years-old and over" demographic will have been given the important protection against the virus.
It's day three of the community vaccination programme on the Rock. Together with health and care workers, those who are 70 and over are the first priority group to get the jab at the public vaccination centre at the ICC. By this morning, 1170 vaccines had been administered. There are around 6000 who are 70 and over who will be getting the vaccine.
The GHA asks anyone in the demographic who has not been called yet to be patient, adding that they will be contacted.
Needles can be off-putting, so I went to the ICC to find out what those getting vaccinated can expect - Shelina Assomull spoke to Clinical Lead for the Community Vaccines Project, Suzanne Romero.
