All Mount Alvernia residents and hospital patients offered a place at the Rooke care home have agreed to move there.

Speaking on Viewpoint, the Director General Dr Paul Bosio said everything was on track for the transition in November.

While the Government normally retains residents’ State Pensions as a contribution towards their care, Health and Care Minister Gemma Arias-Vasquez confirmed that spouses remaining at home could retain two-thirds of the pension if they needed the income.

Dr Bosio also confirmed that the GHA intends to engage an accredited organisation to monitor standards of care.
