Almost 1500 people received their COVID-19 vaccine on Monday.
It was the first day day for community vaccinations, with 581 over 70 year olds getting their jab at the public vaccination centre at the ICC.
Day two of the vaccine programme also included further inoculation of those in Elderly Residential Services on Tuesday. This included those at the Calpe Ward and Cochrane Ward at St. Bernard’s Hospital and at Mount Alvernia.
The vaccine cannot be administered to anyone that has had COVID-19 in the last 28 days, meaning not all Mount Alvernia residents could receive the jab. A total of 68 ERS residents and 40 ERS healthcare staff did.
336 hospital staff received their vaccine on Monday too. This brings the total vaccinated on Monday to 1025.
And more than a third of the Rock's population has registered for the online COVID-19 vaccination interest form.
In answer to GBC questions, the Government has confirmed that 11,504 people have registered to have the vaccine for COVID via the online form.
The Government says that if anyone has any doubts as to whether their details with the GHA are up to date, they can provide these via the form. It can be found on gha.gi
