A spokesperson for long time friend of Gibraltar Andrew Rosindell, has said he has been exonerated following a lengthy investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
The Conservative MP for Romford was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences and misconduct in public office in May 2022, two years after officers received a complaint about him.
He has always denied wrongdoing and was never charged.
The Met Police say that although a "thorough investigation" had been carried out, the evidence threshold for a criminal prosecution had not been met.
Mr Rosindell was asked by the Conservative Chief Whip to stay away from Parliament until the investigation ended, although he has been submitting written questions.
He intends to stand as an MP again.
