Applications invited for rental of Eastern Beach storage units

Published by GBC News

Applications are being invited for the rental of storage units at Eastern Beach Promenade.

A total of 369 stores are currently available.

Orfila Architects told GBC this was the first phase of the project, with 600 stores to be offered in total as per the planning application.

Emails have been sent to those who had expressed an interest in the stores, with application forms to be sent back to EBS@gibtelecom.net.

However, the Eastern Beach Management Team says the process to register interest closed on the 17th May - and that only those who had emailed them by then are entitled to apply for a shed. Nearly 1,000 people have registered.

EBS Ltd says a waiting list has been created for those who have registered interest after the deadline, should any sheds become available in future.

It adds that the allocation process will be verified by an independent Notary Public.

369 UNITS AVAILABLE

Prices start from £15 a month - described as a "first-year introductory offer".

Out of the 369 stores available, there are fourteen units that are a bit larger, with prices for these ranging from just over £16 to £87 a month.

The stores will be allocated on a first come first served basis, and are set to become available from the 10th of next month.

EBS LTD

The emails were sent by EBS Limited; it says it's a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gibraltar Community Initiatives Limited, which it says is a registered charity.

GCIL is the parent company of Community Supplies and Services Limited, the company involved in the new Victoria Stadium and the Rooke elderly care home.

EBS Limited says all proceeds from the rental of the stores will be used for other projects undertaken by GCIL.
