Around 200 demonstrate calling for more support for those with special educational needs & disabilities

Published by GBC News

Around 200 people marched along Main Street today calling for the remaining sections of the Disability Act to be enacted.

The demonstration was organised by a group calling itself "We Are One Voice" - it says it represents parents of people with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as those who make up Gibraltar's neurodiverse community, and people directly affected by these issues.

The group also calls for a revision of the Disability Act to closer align it with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

And, it calls for the publication of the Autism and ADHD pathways and Special Educational Needs and Disability Strategy - as well as details as to how this will be implemented.

Ros Astengo was there as the group marched to Convent Place to deliver a letter to the Government.
