The official bathing season will start next Saturday 23rd May – two weeks before its usual start.
This means there will be lifeguards at all beaches and swimming pools, as well as full beach attendant and accessibility services.
However, the Government says, in other respects, there may be some transitional arrangements, with everything to be completed by the 13th June.
The GSLA Bathing Pavilion and Europa Pool will open, and the Government says the swimming pools at Camp Bay will also be operational after the completion of essential maintenance works.
Number Six the Supported Needs and Disability Office has worked with the Departnent of the Environment to ensure people with disabilities can access the sea and beach facilities. It says all beaches except Sandy Bay will have beach attendants, and there will also be accessible stations at all beaches except Sandy Bay and Little Bay.
A booklet is also available on accessibility provisions across Gibraltar’s beaches and pools. You can read it here.
