A former Unite GHA convenor has claimed she was bullied and harassed within the union after she called for it to improve its service.
In an open letter, Marilyn Bramble says when she was ignored, she informed the UK main office about the Gibraltar branch's shortcomings.
After becoming a whistleblower, she says she was "intimidated, degraded [and] humiliated", prompting her to resign.
Ms Bramble says she is speaking out now as "nothing has changed" in the year since this happened.
Asked by GBC for a response, Unite's Regional Officer, Victor Ochello, said the case would be dealt with by the union's legal department in the UK.
Mr Ochello highlighted that this has come a week before the demonstration by Unite, adding he does not believe in coincidences.
He questioned the timing of what he called Ms Bramble's attack on the organisation and leadership of the union.
