Bus knocks down bollards and crashes in Upper Town

A bus crashed in the Upper Town on Monday afternoon, on the junction of Willis's Road and Tank Ramp.

The bus initially stopped on the hill.

The police told GBC there were problems reversing it due to the steepness of the road, with efforts made to push it back.

However, videos circulated on social media show the bus then rolling forward, with nobody at the wheel at that point.

GBC understands the hand brake is believed to have failed.

The bus crashed into two bollards and the outer wall of a building.

The police said there were no road closures, and that no action will be taken against the driver.
