Two army cadets have been cleared of battery in a case involving a lieutenant in the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.
The incident dates back to August of last year, when a recruit at Sandhurst Academy accused two colleagues of holding him down and pouring water over field dressing being held over his face, effectively waterboarding him.
Officer cadets Jonathan Cox and Edward Wright maintained their innocence throughout, claiming it was "just friends being friends" and that the complainant had found the incident amusing at the time.
Judge Advocate Alan Large discharged the board trying the case after a matter which cannot be reported for legal reasons had arisen, which he said, "required investigations and consideration."
