Commander British Forces Tim Henry has told GBC he expects that as pay restraints are eased by the Treasury and the Cabinet Office, employees in Gibraltar will begin to see the benefits of that as per the 1970s pay parity agreement. This follows a statement by Unite the Union calling for an end to austerity measures. In a wide ranging interview with GBC to mark his first year in the role, Commodore Henry also answered questions on the Royal Marines' role in the detention of the Grace 1, incursions into Gibraltar waters by Spanish state vessels, and new Royal Navy boats for Gibraltar Squadron.
