A 13-metre chamber that has remained sealed at the rear of Vanguard Cave for up to 45,000 years has been discovered by the Gibraltar National Museum team.
The announcement was made at the Calpe Conference at the Gibraltar University, by Professor Joaquín Rodríguez-Vidal - a Geomorphologist from the University of Huelva.
The discovery was made earlier on this year and will be explored sensitively given it's archaeological significance.
Speaking to our reporter Ros Astengo, Museum Director Geraldine Finlayson described the find as an 'incredible opportunity'.
