The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office  is offering scholarships for individuals looking to further their academic and professional development in the UK.

The Chievening scholarships and fellowship, announced by the Office of the Governor, provide participants with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, build international networks, and strengthen their links with the UK while joining a global community of future leaders and change makers.

The Chevening Scholarships for the 2027-2028 Academic year are the UK Government's flagship international scholarships programme, supporting individuals with strong leadership potential to undertake a fully funded one-year master's degree at a UK university. Scholars gain a world-class UK education, access to influential professional networks, membership of a global alumni community of more than 60,000 leaders and changemakers, and lasting links with the UK.

The Chevening Europe Defence and Security Fellowship is a fully funded six-week programme hosted by Cranfield University at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. Designed for mid-career professionals from across Europe, the fellowship focuses on leadership, security, defence, cyber resilience, governance, artificial intelligence, strategic decision-making and international cooperation.

Participants benefit from teaching, practical exercises, research activities, site visits and opportunities to build lasting professional networks across Europe and the UK.

For anyone wanting to learn more about either opportunity, the Office of the Governor will be hosting a drop-in information session at the Convent on the 14th September from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.

Prospective applicants are welcome to attend to find out more about the programmes and the application process.
