The Chief Minister and Attorney General will take part in a fireside chat on the UK-EU Treaty at the first Gibraltar Business Conference in London next month.

Former Minister for Trade and Industry, Peter Montegriffo KC, will moderate the discussion.

The new business-focused event is organised by Business Minister Gemma Arias-Vasquez and is aimed at promoting the jurisdiction to investors, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

The Gibraltar Business Conference is a new addition to this year's Gibraltar Day in London events, and is intended to build on its success.

It's aim is to showcase the Rock as a place to do business, to relocate and to invest.

The Government says the event, which will be fully funded through sponsorship, has seen strong interest from across all sectors, and will be held at one of London's iconic landmarks - the Oxo Tower - on Tuesday 21st October.

Starting at 5pm, the evening's programme includes focussed discussions on technology, lifestyle and tax, and there'll be networking opportunities to connect Gibraltar-based companies with London’s business community. Gibraltarians working in the UK have also been invited.

The centrepiece of the night is a fireside chat on the UK–EU Treaty, with Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and Attorney General Michael Llamas, moderated by ex-GSD Minister Peter Montegriffo KC. They'll explore Gibraltar's position and potential opportunities under the terms of the agreement.

Minister for Business, Gemma Arias-Vasquez says Gibraltar Day in London, which starts on the 20th October, offers the perfect platform to launch this new initiative.

For his part, the Chief Minister says it will add real depth to the events in the capital and provides an opportunity to promote Gibraltar as a jurisdiction of choice for business and professional relocation, as well as to explain directly to an influential audience the new opportunities that lie ahead.
