Chief Minister says announcement on Rooke home operations will come 'when the time is right'

The Chief Minister says the Government will make an announcement on the start of operations at the Rooke site when the time is right, but stopped short of addressing Opposition questions on the building’s future use.

Earlier, the Minister responsible for the development faced questions in Parliament on inspections and permits. Leslie Bruzon told the House the building was granted a certificate of fitness in August 2025, prompting Opposition MP JoelleLadislaus to raise concerns over continued delays.

The Rooke building, intended to operate as an elderly care home, was first announced by the Government six years ago.
