The only resolution of legal force is the right to self-determination, Fabian Picardo tells the UN

The Chief Minister has told the UN that the only resolution of legal force, on which it should rely, is the General Assembly's resolution on the right to self-determination.

Fabian Picardo said this trumps any resolution that Spain relies on in its claim over Gibraltar, calling them legally worthless and futile.

He said this is the very right that underpins the UK/Mauritius agreement on the Chagos Islands, comparing Gibraltar's position to that of Mauritius, which has now completed its decolonisation.
