The new Children's Primary Care Centre will be inaugurated within the next few weeks, near St Bernard's Hospital. This is according to the Minister for Health, Neil Costa, who added in his budget speech that works are well underway on the nearby new Primary Care Centre as well, with this expected to be ready after the summer.
Neil Costa said the GHA budget has been increased by 11% for this financial year: up to £138 million. He added that there had been a 50% reduction in formal complaints from 2017 to 2018, and that there had been an average of 46 unused GP appointments every day over the last year.
As Minister for Justice, Mr Costa said work would soon be completed on the Prison's Mandatory Drugs Testing policy. He said a third of inmates attend Narcotics Anonymous, out of an average daily population of 52 at the prison.
