McGrail Inquiry | 9th January 2026, 13:35 |

The Chief Minister is taking legal advice as to which of the findings in the McGrail Inquiry report are challengeable - either at the Supreme Court or via Constitutional Motion.
Speaking on last night's Viewpoint, Fabian Picardo described many of Sir Peter Openshaw's criticisms of him as unfair, improper, and without legal foundation.
Ros Astengo asked him whether he could say what mistakes he was prepared to own.
The Chief Minister said he is also looking at legal advice in respect of some of the issues that have arisen at the Royal Gibraltar Police over the past five or six years, saying some of them might require action.
In the extended interview, Mr Picardo said his Ministers had given him their support.
And the Chief Minister has accused three lawyers in the Inquiry of going beyond their remit in the Inquiry, and campaigning politically against him.
Answering questions on Gibraltar Today, Fabian Picardo said the concept of power in Gibraltar was relative.
