It's been the coldest day in two years, with temperatures dipping as low as 8.6 degrees, according to Meteogib.
The coldest day before that was in January 2021 when the lowest temperature recorded was 9 degrees. The cold resulted in hail falling around Gibraltar, concentrating in large amounts near the top of the Rock.
Viewers have been sharing videos and photos of the phenomenon, commenting the accumulation of hail looked like snow. A heavy rain advisory has been issued until midday Wednesday, with a warning that travel conditions may be difficult.
More hail could fall overnight, with the possibility of thunder.
