Minister for Heritage, John Cortes, who has responsibility for the Gorham's Cave Complex World Heritage Site, has visited the new viewing platforms at the site.
During his visit he was briefed on the progress of the works, which are expected to be completed this month. He also took the opportunity to observe flights of the local Shags that are now in the process of breeding. He said; "This is the only known site where this rare subspecies now breeds on the Mediterranean mainland coastline of Iberia." He added that it was one of the great advantages in protecting the area as it "minimises disturbances and allows species such as this one to find a safe haven."
