Dastis reiterates guarantees that workers will be able to continue crossing daily post-Brexit

The Spanish Foreign Minister has turned to Twitter to say the Spanish Government has wanted to be constructive in the Brexit negotiations.

This follows reports that the bilateral talks on Gibraltar have reached an impasse because of Spanish proposals to have Spanish Police at the airport, that the British Government has found unacceptable.

Alfonso Dastis reiterated that his priority is to give guarantees to the workers that they will be able to continue crossing the frontier on a daily basis. Mr Dastis had widened this guarantee in previous statements, not limiting it to workers when talking of a free flowing frontier.
