If anyone is going to make a success of Brexit it will be Gibraltar, this according to the Deputy Chief Minister in an article in The House Magazine. The piece focused on the Commonwealth, with Dr Joseph Garcia saying this was no new discovery for the Rock, having for many decades engaged closely with the Commonwealth community. He added the fact the UK is looking with new eyes at its old friends also creates a great opportunity for Gibraltar to forge new political, cultural and economic ties and opportunities with the modern Commonwealth.
Mr Garcia says Gibraltar stands ready to engage with the Commonwealth, and that as Brexit Minister he’s tasked with leading the initiative to explore ways in which Gibraltar can serve fellow member nations. We are very much open for business, he added, highlighting the finance centre, motor insurance market and online gaming sector among other opportunities for investment.
