Despite concerns over employment due to pandemic, local recruitment agency reports 37% increase in vacancies

Despite concerns over employment due to the pandemic, vacancies actually went up for local recruitment agency, Career Finders.

The agency reports 130 vacancies from when the pandemic struck in March 2020 to March of this year. That's up 37% on the previous year.

And during the pandemic year, according to the agency, enquiries for new jobs actually went down too, with this down by 31% from the previous year, for the same period.

During the last year, there has been a lot of concern about whether businesses would survive and employees would keep their jobs. Although this has been the case, Sanjay Khiani of Career Finders says more vacancies have come up. There was, however, less interest in looking for new roles.

Shelina Assomull asked him what kind of industries have been hiring during the last year.
