Digitization of National Archives underway

The digitization of the Gibraltar National Archives is underway, with many important documents – dating back hundreds of years – now available online.

The archives contain many original documents which were first brought together as in 1969. The collection has grown, and technology has taken giant leaps forward. And the challenge now is to take the old documents, often irreplaceable originals, and make them available in a digital form for access from a computer or mobile device.
