Disability Rights Federation pleased with response to Wednesday's demonstration

Published by GBC News

The Disability Rights Federation (GDRF) says it's pleased to have supported and taken part in the demonstration organised by parents held on the 24th May.

It's pleased with the response and the numbers who turned up to express their discontent with the current issue of the rights of disabled persons in Gibraltar.

The GDRF says it was formed with the primary aim of having the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability fully transposed into Gibraltar law so that all members of the community could enjoy the rights they deserve.

It says that during its next meeting, to be held within the next few weeks, it will decide on its strategy to further the aim of finally transposing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability into Gibraltar legislation.
