The Disability Rights Federation says the GSD has committed itself to the full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities if elected into Government.
The Federation met with the GSD and says the party also expressed an interest to understand the diverse disabilities represented by the Federation, which consists of 15 separate groups.
A spokesperson said that while the UN legal instrument has been widely adopted by many countries, Gibraltar is still trailing behind and that it the group is grateful for the opportunity to sit round the table to discuss the issue with the GSD.
The Federation says it will continue to seek dialogue with all political parties, and has also recognised Government's efforts through the creation of a dedicated office working from Number Six itself.
