A 102-year-old Eucalyptus tree on Rosia Road is no more.
The Government told GBC the tree had a fungal disease and needed to be removed on health and safety grounds, as it had become a liability in a high transit area for both pedestrians and vehicles.
According to Greenarc’s records, the tree had been brought to Gibraltar in late 1921, from Granada.
A replacement tree will be planted.
