Electricity Authority investigates unforeseeable fault behind four-hour North District blackout

The Electricity Authority says the fault that caused yesterday afternoon's four-hour power outage in the North District was "not foreseeable and is being treated as a matter of priority".

It says the fault has been isolated to the approximately 1.5 kilometre section of infrastructure between St Theresa's Church and the former Waterport Power Station.

The GEA says further diagnostic testing has been carried out towards accurately locating the fault and understanding its root cause.
