Police investigates death of 79 year old man in area of Watergardens

The Police is investigating the death of a 79 year old man, who died earlier on Thursday in the area of Watergardens.

Response Team Officers and Ambulance Service personnel were called to the area of Watergardens at around 11:45am.

The Coroner has been informed and an investigation is under way although the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

The RGP says it's aware of mobile footage filmed at the scene being circulated on social media platforms, and urges the public to delete copies of the video and not to share them further, out of respect for family members and friends of the deceased, and anyone else that may have been affected by the incident.

It asks any member of the public who may have been affected by the incident, as a result of having witnessed it, or after receiving and viewing the video filmed, to contact the Health Authority’s free “111” helpline.
