The Minister for Equality is attending the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women. Samantha Sacramento describes the CSW as the most prominent entity on women’s issues, which takes the lead in co-ordinating and promoting the UN’s work on economic and social issues for women’s empowerment, and is instrumental in promoting gender equality. The event will see representation from all regions of the world. Minister Sacramento is in New York with the UK delegation of MPs, and is joined by the Ministry’s Crown Counsel Karina Khubchand. A full programme of meetings and activities is scheduled as part of the trip.
