The European Council is reportedly set to agree to a short Brexit extension. However, discussions continue as to the conditions, and as to the deadline.
Draft conclusions leaked on Thursday indicated the EU would approve an extension until the 22nd of May, subject to the Withdrawal Agreement being approved. However, the international press reports that EU 27 leaders have not yet agreed to this.
Theresa May attended the Council meeting on Thursday having requested an extension until 30th June.
In its draft conclusions, the EU27 reiterated that there could be no reopening of the Withdrawal Agreement that was agreed between the Union and the UK in November last year.
