The Fire & Rescue Service dealt with a #fire on a yacht berthed at Queensway Quay Marina on Sunday evening. It started in the galley of the 50-foot yacht, which became smoke-logged as the flames spread to the engine room. A team of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were able to bring it under control after about an hour.
The neighbouring vessels on Pier 1 were towed away by the Royal Gibraltar Police as a precaution but the fire was contained. The owners of the yacht - a middle-aged couple - did not suffer any burns but were treated for minor smoke inhalation at the marina itself.
